Lock-In

In case you didn't already know, we're having a lock-in next Friday night, Feb. 23, at the church! Come on over around 8:00 and be prepared for late-night awesomeness! We'll play some games (Penultimate Frisbee, anyone?), watch a movie or two, maybe sing some camp songs, eat some unhealthy food, and generally have a pleasant time. Woo-hoo!

Christmas-y Goings On

This Saturday, Dec. 16, the youth groups are going caroling. We're leaving church at about 3:00, so try to arrive a little before then. I think we're having cocoa and chili afterwards, or something like that.

On Sunday the 17th is the annual Sunday school Christmas program. Immediately after the program ends, we're having a Christmas party in the Loft for the senior high youth. Bring your favorite holiday treats and a gift ($5 or less) for the gift exchange.

Pumpkins!!!

Join us this Sunday, Oct. 22, at 4:00 p.m. for some pumpkin carving and other autumnal fun. Roasted pumpkin seeds taste so yummy...

Iron Chef!

Come to church on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 10:00 a.m. to help prepare what's sure to be a delicious meal to be served at the Salvation Army (it'll be so yummy they might have to change the name to Salivation Army!). Not only is this a chance to provide a good meal for those less fortunate than ourselves, but it's also an opportunity for you to pick up some great cooking tips. Why, soon you'll be cooking up a storm, and who knows, you might even get your own Food Network show...

Dirty Feet Retreat, Oct. 13-15

Hey, Believers (that’s you, junior high youth group)! Sign up today for EWALU’s Dirty Feet Retreat, October 13-15. Your cost is only $25 for a full weekend of fun at EWALU Bible Camp. We’ll head up to camp on Friday night and return on Sunday. In between, we’ll play games, sing great camp songs, do some Bible studies, enjoy the cool fall weather at beautiful EWALU, make new friends, and generally have a fun time. Download a registration form here or talk to Matt or Charlie to get a form. Registration forms and your $25 are due by Sunday, October 8.

The theme for the retreat is “Face the Storm!” based on 2 Timothy 1:7, which reads, “God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and self-control.” God equips us with the power, love, and self-control we need to face our fears, to face the unknown, to Face the Storm!

Campfire

Last night we had a lil' campfire out at MacBride Nature Center. We (well, some of us) roasted some Jumbo Jumbos, almost played catch with the football, had some s'mores and very old chocolate chip cookies, and sang camp songs around the fire. It was a beautiful night! So many stars... I really had a nice time.

Our next sr. high youth group activity is a movie night in the Loft on Sunday, Oct. 8. Any movie requests? We'll order some pizza, too. We're also planning to play paintball on Oct. 22, though we still have to confirm that with Mr. Paintball. We'll let you know for sure.

For the jr. high youth group, our next activity is the Dirty Feet Retreat at EWALU, Oct. 13-15. It will be a great weekend--games, music, Bible studies... Talk to Matt or Charlie for more details or to get a registration form.
